First of all, Happy New Year to you all. Hope you’re all having a fabulous day.
I can’t believe my eyes and ears. I won two giveaways from beauty bloggers Apple Caplis of It’s Apple’s World and Rowena Lei of Animetric’s World. What a way to start the year.
The LBC box from Apple
The Zoom package from Rowena
First, I will show you a glimpse of the beauty stuff I got from Apple:
Second, I will show you the goodies I got from Rowena’s previous giveaway. I got Seoul White Korea skin care products as prizes:
Aside from these prizes, I got my order of makeup brushes from Lazada. com. I was expecting them to arrive the earliest on Tuesday and the latest till Saturday because I chose standard shipping. But they arrived on Monday. Good job Lazada.

So that’s it for now. Posting part 2 of this details of the products from Apple and Rowena’s giveaway. Happy New Year once again everyone!!
Last October 14, 2017, I was able to attend WOOmen.ph’s Media Launch in Quezon City. WOOmen.ph is a Hair and Make-up Artists website whose main goal is “to raise the profile of cosmetic artisans in the Philippines”. According to their portfolio, their mission is to “think of ways to Win Others Over- the reason we are called WOOmen.”
The launch was held at the Palm Grill in Tomas Morato Avenue. I love their chosen venue to hold the launch because it’s cozy, and well-lit.
A few months prior to the launch, Ms. Guiden Amalay, one of the co-founders of WOOmen.ph, sent me an invite via Facebook Messenger. I felt a rush of excitement running up my spine because I will see Team WOOmen again.
I met Team WOOmen for the first time at their BEAUTY: DECONSTRUCTED workshop in Greenfield District, Mandaluyong. The place is near Shaw Boulevard. I won a ticket for the event via Ms. Sonjia Calit-Kakilala’s Instagram page. Ms. Sonjia is the Chief Social Officer of WOOmen.ph. Aside from that, she is also the the model for their BEAUTY: DECONSTRUCTED workshop.
There were some challenges faced while traveling to go to the event itself. I was shocked to see the roads filled with vehicles, bumper to bumper, on a Saturday afternoon in the metropolis. These places had the heaviest traffic: Buendia Avenue, Quiapo, Manila, and near Banawe. Que horror! At the same time, the weather seems to have a mind of its own, bringing gray clouds and mild showers merrily along with it. (I am beginning to sound like a weather girl.)
Amid the hurdles faced, I was able to cross and jump over it. I managed to arrive despite the Gordian knot of a traffic situation I had experienced earlier. I asked the security guard if the event is already finished. Lucky me, because he replied that the launch is still on-going. Whew! Thank you!
I went inside Palm Grill and what greeted me is a gorgeous venue, styled a la mode. The ceilings in the loft area are lined with yellow and black balloons, reminiscent to the WOOmen.ph’s color scheme. The tables in the ground floor are also decorated with black balloons as well.
The registration area is a sight. I am loving the creative vibe the event brings! Every thing on the table is well-thought out. Too bad for me because I wasn’t able to get some of the goodies from them because I arrived late. But that’s OK, because in spite of that, I was still able to make it.
As you climb up the stairs, you’ll see the loft where the main event was held. Near this bright mural of leaves, stands the WOOmen.ph poster.
The most important ingredient in an event such as this are the people you meet along the way. After all, an event is not complete without the people itself. You get a lot ichigou ichie moments (meeting for the first time). At the same time, it’s also nice to touch base, and chat with the gorgeous ladies I have met previously at the BEAUTY: DECONSTRUCTED workshop like Abbie Victorino, CEO and Founder of Stylegenie. ph
Overall, the WOOmen.ph Media Lauch is a success. You can sense so much positive vibes that it’s literally lingering above our heads. You can still feel the love in the air hovering, which is evident in the photos posted below:
Are you an aspiring or a professional hair or makeup artist? If you’re reading this, I tell you, this is your chance to shine. Simply check out the official WOOmen website and their social media accounts, and sign up to be part of the WOOmen squad today. I will post the links below:
Hello everyone. How have you guys been? It’s been raining here in the Philippines, and I wish for more sunny days so that I can hang out my clothes to dry after doing the laundry.
We all have our list of must- haves. The ones I listed here are personal favorites. They are not sponsored at all . I am not getting paid for it. Here are some of the products that I love, and I have been using some of them for a while. Some of these products were given, and some I got as lootbags or raffle prizes from giveaways and events. But the moment I tried them, I absolutely loved them. Here are some of them that I adored the most so far.
This product is true to its promise of minimizing the appearance of pores. My huge pores have always been a problem, so I was glad to have this product handy when putting on my makeup. It’s lightweight. It does not leave my face greasy at all. I love it!!
Lately I have been loving nude lippies, and this Pink Sugar Tint is the answer. It glides easily on my lips when I use the applicator. Though it dries fast, it still gives you the time to smack your lips together to even out the product. For more info, you may check out the Pink Sugar Facebook page here.
3)BYS Conceal and Correct
I am glad to have gotten this correcting product from a Woomen.ph event that I attended. It has done its job of minimizing my eyebags, and redness in certain parts of my face, especially the nose and chin. It gave enough coverage to conceal the flaws I have and because it’s in a pan, it’s expected to give a light coverage than those correctors in a tube which are usually full coverage. But overall, I am happy with it. For questions, please visit the BYS Facebook page.
4)K-Palette 1 Day Tattoo Eyeliner
I was scared at first to try this at first because I am used to eyeliner pencils like the one from Bobbi Brown’s Long Wear Eye Pencil. It’s like you’re grasping a brush pen for water color. But afterwards, I realized that I got the hang of using this product and it all takes practice. I like that it has a fine tipped end so you can make those gorgeous wing liners. It lasted all day too. Check out KPalette’s Facebook page here.
5) St. Ives Vitamin E and Avocado Lotion
Every one needs a good lotion . St. Ives helped to keep my skin to moisturize the skin. Used it on my arms, hands, legs, and feet. I like that it’s Paraben free too.
Hope you enjoyed this post. Feel free your absolute must-haves with me. Have a great day to all!
If you’re a beauty and makeup aficionado living in the metropolis of the Philippines, then I suggest for you to check out Apple Caplis’ Personal Makeup Workshop. It will be held on August 13, 2017 at Grow Space, BGC. For more details about the workshop, please check this Facebook page link HERE.
I first met Apple at Ms. Martha Sta Barbara’s The Beauty Junkee 8th Anniversary. Aside from her I also met two other ladies who I was seatmates with at Ms Martha’s event, Christine Galope and Crizzy Santiago. I guess it was fate working because we connected with one another instantly. We became each other’s support system too. Hoping to meet you guys in the future when we’re not so busy!
On July of this year as well, Apple was given the chance to share her expertise on skin care at Woomen.ph event called Beauty Deconstructed. I have used some of Apple’s tips whenever I am doing skin care such as washing my face. Thank you so much!
Good luck, Apple, in your workshop. Hope you get more followers! Beauty Power!
Last July 1, I got the chance to listen to different speakers at a Woomen.ph event called Beauty Deconstructed. I am excited to listen to women giving their talks on their designated topics.
Katrina Carandang gave us information on what Woomen.ph is all about. Hosting with her as well is the beautiful Sonjia Calit.
Here’s a cool pad to jot down notes at the event
Here are some of the sponsors of the event such as Wits, Style Genie, BYS Philippines, Kalma Yoga, Splice Events Place and Restaurant , The Office Project.
Splice Events Place and Restaurant. You can like them here on their Facebook Page
For starters, the first speaker is Justine Correa. She is a mom and a pastor’s wife. She has a Youtube page called Infinite Mamabilities. She spoke about the Heart of Beauty, mainly on true beauty. What makes a woman beautiful not just on the outside, but on the inside as well.
The next speaker is Apple Caplis whose talk revolves around skin care. She gave us tips on how to keep our skin looking better. I first met Apple at Ms. Martha Sta. Barbara’s 8th Anniversary of The Beauty Junkee. It’s nice because we instantly clicked. She didn’t know that I was going to attend the event. Boy she was surprised. Apple is a vlogger of a Youtube page called It’s Apples World.
Then there’s lunch time, and here’s what I got : Shrimp Wraps and Iced Tea.
After lunch, it was Ms. Ron Pena’s turn to share her knowledge on makeup. Ron is a professional makeup artist. You may check out her page at Facebook Ron Pena and Co.
Then, up next is Ms Shai Lagarde who introduces us on styling with a purpose. You may follow her on Instagram page called lovechic.ph.
Next up, the gorgeous Girl Boss Abbie Victorino talks about basic styling and stylegenie.ph
Last but not least is Ms Rochelle Martin who shared her thoughts on how to live a healthy lifestyle. Beauty all begins with clean eating.
Overall, the beauty event was a success. I met like minded women who are into beauty and wellness industry. After the talk, we spent a little more time getting to know one another, neverending photo ops, and asking questions about their talks. I am hoping one day to get to attend more Woomen.ph workshops.
Of course not to forget the workshop attendees photo opportunity.
First of all, I would like to thank Ms. Martha Sta. Barbara for creating her blog The Beauty Junkee. She has helped a lot of Filipina women become better. I can’t believe it’s been 8 years already. I was lucky enough to win a pass to her 8th anniversary last May 20, 2017. Only fifty winners will be given access to the Meet and Greet, and who are also followers of The Beauty Junkee.
It was also nice to meet new friends in the event, beauty aficionados, bloggers and vloggers like: 1) Christine Carolino and her page My Hands are My Best Tools, 2)Apple and her Youtube page It’s Apple’s World , 3)the sisters Donna and Nessy Bautista whom I met first when I won the The Beauty Junkee’s Sixth Anniversary Giveaway , 4)the sweet girls Tintin and Crizelda Santiago whom I met at The Beauty Junkee 7th Anniversary, and Mich Barcenas.
So much good has come out of this event. Ms. Martha’s event has helped me to write again, this time more focused on beauty, health, good vibes and more. I plan to take the path of beauty seriously because I want to help other women become better versions of themselves too. I know that will take a while, but I will get there. I plan to take up professional makeup artist courses too. Wish me luck in this area.
The event was held at Commune Cafe. It’s my first to be in that cafe, but man when I got there, I felt I was at home. It’s an ideal venue for workshops and talks. I will talk about Commune Cafe at a different post. In the meantime you can check out their Facebook Page Commune PH
After registering for the event, all attendees got a Belle de Jour Power Planner for 2017:
Flatlays of various beauty products are on display of Ms. Martha’s Meet and Greet
The speakers for the event were : 1) Martha Sta. Barbara, the blogger of The Beauty Junkee, who shares her makeup techniques with her attendees 2) Liz Lanuzo, the beauty blogger who owns the blog Project Vanity. Liz shared her expertise with regards to monetizing your passion and turning it into profit , 3)Cai Cortez, a gorgeous actress who emphasized the importance of having a good body image regardless of one’s size. I will write about body image in my future blog posts. I have learned a lot from the event. I also realized that in order to pursue your dreams, you have to want them so bad but not being desperate. There’s a difference between the two. I remember Ms. Martha asking at the event, “How bad do you want your dreams to come true?”

I have always been looking for that one planner that can help me to organize my life. Luckily, my prayers were answered when I was chosen as one of the winners for the The Beauty Junkee 8th Anniversary and Workshop. I got the chance to meet the gorgeous founder of the blog Martha Sta. Barbara.
From that event, I got a planner called the Belle de Jour Power Planner. You can check out their website ilovebdj.com to get more details about this. Reading the description from their official website, it states that this planner has the busy Filipina in mind. As I got to the first few pages, I realized that I need to read the info written in there thoroughly. Why? It mentions the company Viviamo! Inc. ‘s vision in creating this planner. Furthermore, the planner is rich with features that help women to focus and organize their daily schedules. It also includes this BDJ privilege card and a discount coupon book which is good for a year. These features are enough to keep me motivated to pursue my dreams.
I need to start writing in this planner now. I will update in upcoming posts as to how this planner changed my life. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Cheerio.
